Psychologist and Former Vice President for Professional Development at Palo Alto University

A licensed psychologist in California, a PAU alumnus, and former Vice President of PGSP’s Office of Professional Development (OPAD). OPAD staff provide guidance and career-planning services to PAU students throughout their practicum and internship training and their preparation for postdoctoral training.

As former Director of the California Psychology Internship Council, Dr. Emmons’s background includes over 27 years of clinical and administrative experience in community mental health, professional psychology education and training, and private practice. Says Dr. Emmons, “Professional development in psychology is a lifelong process of building competencies and professional identity.”

With external clinical placements becoming more and more competitive, PAU’s Office of Professional Development stands ready to help students develop the skills and professional attitudes they will need to meet today’s challenges.
