PAU faculty, students and alumni have a long history of presenting and participating in a wide variety of panels and research demonstrations at the Convention. UPDATE:
Three PhD students were recognized for their outstanding work at the Society for Addiction Psychology Early Career Investigator Poster Session at the 2023 APA Convention, an event co-sponsored by Divisions 28 (Psychopharmacology and Substance Abuse) and the National Institutes of Health! The three presenters researched topics related to substance use issues in emerging adults.
Chloe Adams presented work identifying psychological correlates of college student engagement in alcohol-related regretted sexual activity. Jason Lee examined differences in alcohol-related social norms by ethnicity and sex assigned at birth. Grace Lilly presented findings suggesting that a commonly used measure, the Drinking Motives Questionnaire, may not be appropriate for use with Latinx students attending Hispanic serving institutions. Congratulations to all three students, who are members of the Palo Alto Addictions Research Center and are mentored by Dr. Amie Haas!
